The camera app is what you will be using to take pictures. This tutorial will walk you through the basic functions of the camera app, and where the photos are placed.
When you first open the camera app you will see many different things to tap on. The main one is the circle right above the home button.
When you tap this it will take a picture. Now, if you want to take a video, you will swipe from left to right on the screen to get to video mode.
Now you can see that there is a red circle where the white one used to be. When you tap that red circle it starts recording.
To stop recording, press the red square in the same place that the circle was. To get back to camera mode, swipe right to left.
You may see in the bottom left corner of the screen a preview of the pictures/videos that you have just taken. Tap on it, and it will bring you to your photos. This is just one of many ways to get to the photos. Another way is by going to the home screen and opening the Photos app.
The photos app is where all your pictures/videos are stored.
In the photos app, there are three tabs at the bottom: photos, shared, and albums. The easiest way to see any past photos or videos is by looking in the photos tab. You can scroll up or down to see your photos. They are ordered by date from oldest to newest. It will also show the location of where the photo was taken. You can tap on any individual photo to see them in full screen. When you are in full screen looking at a photo you can delete it by pressing the trash bin icon in the bottom right corner. Then pressing delete when prompted.
You may be thinking, “how do I share these photos?” Well, you can do this by taping any photo. It will then show a full screen version of the photo. Tap the share button in the bottom left of the screen. This will bring up what is called the “share sheet.” Here you can choose where you want to share it.
This is just a few of the features of the camera app and the photos app. There is much more to each of these apps. If you have any questions, please let me know in the comments below.
